SPTO champions adventure travel at AdventureNEXT Fiji

The Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) recently participated in AdventureNEXT Fiji, held from November 20-22 at the InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa.
The event highlighted the rising potential of adventure tourism in the Pacific and provided a platform to explore its role in sustainable tourism development in the region.
Guided by the theme “Toso Vata,” meaning “Move Together,” AdventureNEXT Fiji emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation in advancing the tourism industry.
For SPTO, the event marked a significant step towards embracing adventure travel as a transformative opportunity for the Pacific, positioning the region as a leading destination for adventure tourism.
SPTO’s involvement in AdventureNEXT Fiji underscores its commitment to diversifying the Pacific’s tourism offerings and strengthening its reputation as a premier travel destination.
The event featured inspiring keynote sessions, interactive workshops, and valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders, travel experts, and key stakeholders.
Christopher Cocker, SPTO’s Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the growing significance of adventure travel in the global tourism market.

By engaging in AdventureNEXT Fiji, we are unlocking new opportunities for the Pacific, enriching our members’ tourism portfolios while staying true to our shared values of sustainability and cultural preservation,” Cocker said.

Cocker also stressed the importance of knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and mutual growth among SPTO’s member nations, leveraging the event’s collective spirit to strengthen regional tourism strategies and enhance sustainable development across the Pacific.
